Default Aerokit or No Aerokit?

I beleive this is mostly a personal preference but I am between 2 996TT's one with the Aerokit and one without. Would like to hear any pro's and con's on the Aerokit.

Also, do you think an Aerokit will make the future value and desirability higher, lower, or no difference at all?

Thank you for your opinions.

To me, aerokit makes a huge difference in the NA 996's, but not so much a difference on the 996tt's. I do believe that aerokit cars will be more desirable, but not a huge difference.

I disagree. The rear gets rid of the stupid hydraulic spoiler, lighter and looks better. If you get a car with the aero and don't like it, you can sell the spoiler and make money off it. Very rare part! I have both...

I like the aerokit but I'm cheesy! I grew up with the import scene and body kits.

Hello. I believe I am in the minority who does love the aerokit. I added one to my 993 and many hated it. They claim that it hurts the clean lines and give it a boy racer look. I like the boy racer look. I think it make the car stand out. I don't think that the aero is functional for 90% of the situations and use, but if you like the look go for it. If it makes you feel good when you look at it, then by all means do it.
I guess it is mostly a personal preference. DO IT!!!!

Good luck either way

I agree, on 996TT I could literally flip a coin if I had to choose. I like the looks of both a standard TT and an aero kit TT. I have to assume that over the very long term an aero kit car could only help since they are not very common. Good luck either way!

I slight prefer the non-aero but like both styles, but aerokit has a greater value IMO

I have read that it is easy to damage the front spoiler as it protrudes further out than the standard spoiler. Would like to hear from those with the Aerokit how prevalent this is and how careful you need to be.

On the positive side I have read that it improves performance with gains in additional down force but don't know if this is fact or hyperbole.

Aerokit here. In fact, it was a "must have" for me.

Yes the front splitter protrudes a little more than the non-aerokit splitter. Something to remember when parking in those spots with concrete blocks in front...

I appreciate the aerokit mostly because I don't have to worry about problems with the rear wing hydraulics. The front splitter is very easy to scrape on driveways. I totally destroyed one ebay splitter. I was glad that I had earlier removed the OEM piece to save it from damage.

Aerokit was one of the kickers for me to jump on picking up my car. I love it. Makes the car more unique IMHO.

I love the Aero front lip. Not the rear wing

Aero kit here too, love it. Haven't scraped the lip but I am careful, so far so good.
