^where did you get the rottec seats from? I haven't got any luck with the company and the dealer in my area can't get in touch with them and can't supply them,.

Turbo boost actuator pipe?

Regardless, having worked on both the 996TT and 997.1TT they both have positives and downsides. I personally think the 996TT motor is more reliable but in driving dynamics the 997TT make it the better driving car. I think both are excellent value and fantastic cars.

When it comes to Turbo Charged 911's I will take in order.

3.3 Turbo 930 5 speed
964 Turbo 3.6
3.3 Turbo 930 4 speed
997.1 Turbo
996 Turbo S *Brakes*
964 Turbo
996 Turbo
997.2 Turbo
991 Turbo
3.0L 930
993 Turbo

Really?

By your yardstick my decades old 930 would be worth what, maybe a couple grand? I don't think so.

I completely agree, the naturally aspirated ones will get cheaper for a while, especially the 997 that hasn't come to bottom yet. I've thought of getting one for a while to drive daily and better to learn the chassis nuances at slower speeds without caring about door dings, bumper rash, coffee spills and such.

On the other hand, try buying a turbo this summer for less than last summer.

Everyone keeps forgetting, these old air cooled Porsche's were not really anything special until a man by the name of Magnus Walker came into the picture. I personally think they have been way over inflated in value these last couple of years and will settle back down to a more reasonable position. Why do you think Jerry Seinfeld has decided to sell a few of his vintage aircooled Porsche's all of a sudden? Because the man knows what is going to happen to their value and is cashing out (not that he needs the money).

If the stock market doesn't recover you will see a lot of them for sale= has been better last few days. Agree people did jump on the band wagon and the prices will come down, but all Turbos eventually become collectable.

I completely agree, economy is a huge factor when it comes to anything collectible.

The 05 TT S brakes are sublime! PCCB's simply astonished me. A very expensive option, but what incredible stopping power. I love the clean calipers too, no dust!!!

Its happening now .not saying prices will get nutty quickly. In 10 years a decent mile car that's unmolested will be rare as most are abused in ways that no other 911 has ever experienced.

There are many folks who feel the air cooled prices are in bubble territory.

Regardless of mods long term it will be condition, condition, condition, that will determine value. As pointed out, look what Magnus and others have done to the air cooled market, all highly modded cars. Porsche market has always responded to hot rodded cars because they're cool and drivable IMO of course.

Whether you think they will appreciate or not, using 0-60 times means absolutely nothing. Things become collectable when they are desired and supply drops below demand. Supply of good condition has no where to go but DOWN. Thanks though for playing.
You don't have to get all butt hurt about it. Just my opinion and you are welcome to yours. These are great cars but there is a lot that goes into making a car collectable. I don't know much about your e36 but assuming what you say is true I would guess its an outlier. There are simply a ton of good cars that were produced and very few end up as future collectables. I don't see the 996tt being one but hey that's one guys opinion amongst as sea of others here that disagree. Its a forum for opinions.

You don't spend alot of time working on cars then most modern German cars are absolute trash.

The older cars honestly will hold value better even for cars that are not extremely special like the E36M3 and Volvo 240! because its a good car. The 996TT is not only the best turbo mechanically made but it also has desired Mezger motor and manual gearbox.

I still think aircooled market is absolutely dumb and I love those cars
