Question Psm

AGAIN: if I turn off the PSM and I am listening to AM radio, when spinning the tires for any reason, I can hear a noise coming from the speakers. Does that mean something, like the PSM is still working in the background? who can tell me the truth?
Thank you, Paul

It's Paul Harvey telling you to stop driving sideways.

PSM continues to function. It is monitoring and still functions under braking. Whether that is what you are hearing is another question.

My '01 TT does the same thing when the PSM is "working" and I'm listening to AM radio. I chalked it up to rapid solenoid valve pulses in the system somewhere or brush noise from a pump of some sort.

The AM radio reception from a windshield antenna is always compromised by allowing local EMI from the vehicle to enter much more easily than if the antenna were a fender mounted whip like you see on all "less expensive" cars.

I consider it a novelty of owning the car. Don't worry about it.

The PSM system is super complex with lots of relays and computers. When it is operating I am sure there is some sort of voltage drop and that may be causing the static....
