2005 Turbo S Cab on eBay Good find if it
There has been a 2005 Tubro S Cab on eBay for a while. It was a Black\black\black with 78k on clock. I had been in contact with the seller since he had an opening bid of $38k on the car. It is in Houston Texas and had a final price of $38300. I did not have a PPI run on the car but in discussion with seller it sounded like he enjoyed the car but skimped on the maintenance items since he did not know what I was asking in some of my questions. Anyway I was wondering if someone here picked up the car. Good buy for somebody.

He was short selling it. Downsizing house is what he told me. He listed it several times in the $40k's then this last one at $38k. Like I wrote, sounded like he was a driver who enjoyed the car but may have gone light on maintenance.

no one puts hankooks street tires on the car unless they are "skimping" and i bet we aren't talking rs3's here, i bet they are v12's which are crap. 600 a set and not worthy or even "safe" for the car. they're just "cheap" ( flame suit on )
a new set of hybrid turbos can be had for $2k! so whats 13k !?! he bought NEW oem?! even then they aren't 13k!

I'll trust a 2009 review that put them 2nd overall: Out lapped the PS2s, 2nd place @ .93G on skidpad, wet also 2nd stickiest and the best braking. But you say they suck so I guess it's true. Done lots of "testing" like this review? "I think" and butt dynos don't count. Thought so. I don't track and never could take the car to the limit on the street anyway..... Of course if I were racing it would be a different story. I'm on my 2nd set and they wear very well.
I'm very curious so please cite what information that you have that they are "not safe".

Tire Test: Nine Affordable Summer Tires Take On the Michelin PS2
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo
Second place: The unusual suspects.
Jun 2009 By DAVE VANDERWERP Photography By RICH CHENET
“Deceptively quick” is a good summation of the Hankook Ventus V12 Evos because they often didn’t feel as strong as they actually were, particularly in the dry. Their fourth-place autocross time wasn’t spectacular, but they did outlap the benchmark Michelin PS2s. Geswein said the Hankooks felt “somewhat soft” and “imprecise,” although they were forgiving, yielding consistent laps with no surprises. Despite that feeling of softness, the V12 Evos somehow managed a second-place skidpad run of 0.93 g and were above average in braking. Hankook just launched a new extreme-performance Ventus R-S3 model, which wasn’t available in time for this test but likely has sharper dry responses.
In the wet, however, the V12s were as sporty and connected as they come, with grip second only to the PS2s’ and the best braking. The Hankooks were extremely consistent, likely because they were so well-behaved, which made them easy to drive quickly. Subjectively, they felt the best around the track, even though their time trailed slightly behind the Dunlops’.
With above-average wet and dry performances, and tying for quietest on the street loop, the V12 Evo is an impressive and well-rounded summer tire. And, at $106, it’s a bargain, too.
