hey jim,.. thanks very much for the compliments and to you mcbit, as well. i hear what you're all saying re: the vinyl turbo script. it is a bit cheesy but at LEAST it IS OEM "cheesy", as i have managed to bastardize the look of the car with some decidedly non oem looking stuff. but always "oem" when possible! my excuse is that so many people have told me to get rid of it ( was on the car when i acquired it ) that my addled brain has convinced me they're just jealous and would do it themselves if they had the 200 quid lol. or not. anyway, the "turbo script" is not long for this world. its been on the damn car for a decade!

so here's "real" and i was hoping to at least capture the essence of the "front" though it's gonna look "faux" anyway, so it's going to come down to how good the folks that make the parts are and the body shop etc to do paint and fitment etc, because of the headlamp covers so the 'white car' pic may be what i end up with but lastly i'm going to ( again ) try to copy with vinyl aluminum "look" on the hood of this last pic of the blue 997T of this guys killer 7.1T he has FS now. so the pics are an amalgam of what i'm hoping to end up with and renderings are something I'm incapable of doing, though when my bud comes back from designing a fisker interior I'm gonna ask him to try and mock one up for me using the mish mash of cars and parts. ( aren't you sorry you asked by now? )

so lastly is the "alum" look i'm going for with the 97 gt street front and the paint scheme will probably stay oem faux gt2rs since it's already "arctic" and unless i want to spend half of what the cars worth painting it ALL?, then i'm gonna have to stay with the vinyl bit w/ the faux 997 body kit stuff. i think it'll look sharp if/when done "right". if not? i have a 150k mile frankenturbo, lol. but i'm counting at least in part on my innate sense of style and savor faire to help the car thru this hoped for albeit massive bodykitted "makeover". i've become so bored with anything that still looks 996t oem, and yet can ill afford porsche's own upmarket specimens, so i have to f*ck this one up instead

so, please use your imagination..lol apologies to the threadstarter for pics of a work not yet in progress hah. the pic of mine once completed will go in pic space #4 currently left "blank"!

...and OF COURSE rob's garage resembles a "showroom"! LOL nicely done, son. HA
Look what I found, not bad.

agree, i'm only interested in the front bumper w led's. that's the tendency with aftermarket body kits. the tacky line becomes real easy to cross.

I'm not a big fan of the wheels, but I don't dislike them enough to replace them at this moment. Saving my pennies for a Speedtech Xpipe!

They're a completely different experience aren't they.
The rear of your car with the blacked out tail lights looks real sleath.

Mmm... GT Car... NA... If I could afford a GT3 or a GT4 (and a 911 Turbo) I'd be all over it. Not quite there yet though. Love the TQ curve and sound of NA cars.

Yeah, it's so amazing. I actually had a deposit on an Alfa Romeo 4C, but then I drove it and was unimpressed. All the reviews were against the Cayman and I had never considered it and after the unimpressive 4C test drive I said "Well, I guess I should at least go look at one", and I drove it home If I had done more research on them I probably would have bought it used and saved a few bucks. After getting the Cayman I "needed" a four seater to drive the family in when we go out together... I'm totally hooked on them!

Thanks Jason! I'd love to keep them all, but I've only got two spots in the Garage so (at the moment) the Carrera is for sale.
