Default Red seat belts

Have been on the lookout for red seat belts.

This topic has been covered before, several times.

No luck in getting used. Suncoast has them now for 680 with 50 bucks shipping for just 2. 1360 for all four, I like red, but not that much.

Looked into some non oem belts, like max speed. Seems there is positive feedback. I understand the disclaimer, and there has been some feedback of an unfortunate accident, where the belt and mechanism was inspected afterwards, and it seemed to have functioned properly. However, each accident is different, and the mount of force applied to the belt is different.

Safety is not something that should be taken lightly in my book.

Anyone have any experience with maxspeed, or any other suggestions?

Or suck it up and go oem?

I would buy OEM, but I would be very sure that I was going to keep car for extended period. My personal outlook is that they will look dated with time= better to have interior color matched .

Do it OEM...it's your car, I'm not sure what the guy above means by dated... The cars are already "dated". but I personally always disliked the all matching interiors. The red ones in my car are from Suncoast, the Alcantara is from Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. I have rear seat delete so I only needed two!

While some people like contrast it can be done in a less than favorable color combo that will turn most buyers off and age badly. Its a good bit to spend for a personal touch but agree its worth it if really wanted. A black interior does give the best starting point. Jacbrony not my taste but done correctly with nice materials.

I'd guess you could get at least half your money back if you sold them when it becomes time to sell so I'd figure half the cost the actual out of pocket cost. Go oem for peace of mind.

Thanks for the input. Rmc I don't have any red to match to, interior is black with carbon fiber, regardless I think red looks good on silver/black. Plus my current belts aren't retracing as quickly anymore, so a new one doesn't hurt.

Also if the car gets sold, belts can be sold separate and from popularity I think they will still retain some value.

So checked with suncoast. The belts they have are only for 2002 and up. They stated that the seat belts were changed in 02 and will not fit the 01.

Anyone have experience with this? First time I heard of that, but then what do I know.

Most after 2001 have different supports for upgraded stiffness/safety, some late 2001s have it= what build date is yours?
