Do you just leave the ones that can be hooked direct (not clips) installed in the car?

X50: I tend to drink it immediately. I'll probably never mature.

Kevin: great! Then you have the most beer money of all!

Default "float" mode differences

I looked carefully at the CTS and the Battery Tender, they are different.

The "float" mode for the battery tender does just keep a constant voltage applied. While I can't confirm this causes any issue, it is not allowing the battery to naturally discharge a little, it simply pushes a little voltage/current all the time.

The pulsed float in the CTS seems to be better. After full charge, it allows the battery to naturally discharge a little, then "pulse" to charge back up. This natural cycling, I believe, is better for a lead-acid battery than just holding at voltage for a long time. (Can anyone confirm or deny this.)

Therefore, while there may be a price delta, I think the CTS charger would be a bit more optimal for long term storage.

I use the Porsche one, that plugs into the cig lighter. Very easy to use and works perfect. Why would you buy anything else?

Because the Ctek 3300 is basically the same unit with more features for 1/2 the price, just no Porsche logo.

Default Ctek experience

I picked up the ctek MUS4.3 test and charge, been happy so far. Has the cig lighter plug which is nice, but without the (accessory) extension cable the normal round one is a bit stout to really fit in the gap between door and frame. Gets pretty pinched, I'd worry about long term damage, so I'll just get the flat extension which should resolve the issue.

Charging logic seems sound, good feedback on where your battery is at, and the test features are a nice convenience. Would recommend.

I'm a Ctek dealer if anybody has any questions or would like to purchase one. I personally use MUS4.3 and it works great.
