Default Day at the track...

Was out at the track testing new aero on my car and had some good battles with a couple of 997 Cups in the process. The following are laps #3 and #4 back to back. The front car is a 2011 997.2 Cup followed by a 2007 997.1 Cup. Note the nice power slide on the Cup in front of me of turn 2 on lap #4. Pirelli Slicks clearly have the grip advantage on NT01s in the corners. The sequential gearboxes offer seamless power on these cars. Night and day difference from a 996 Cup..

Checked them out on 6spd, you hung with the cup cars quite well.

That's fun to watch. The PDK really makes those cars fast, but you hung in with them nicely. The GT3's are numerous in the upper run groups, and now a few cup cars where I'm at in MI. What lap recorder are you using?

Nice day at the track. The lead car in your group was holding up the "man in the middle" quite a bit on corner entries. Great to see a 996 in the mix holding your own

You made up a lot of ground on them by cutting off track entering the slow corners. That is how the pros do it. Nice work.

iPhone with Harrys Lap Timer Pro. Pretty amazing actually for $20. Getting a Motec put in shortly to allow for detailed data analysis..

I don't think the 997 cups have pdk.

Ha, love to see how you back off on the gas after every corner! You really slowed down on the straights! (due to "cup" traffiic!)

As always, Nice driving!

Yeah, I had to back off a bit on the straight as I didn't wanna get right on their bumper as they can normally out brake me. I think not having ABS really hurts them in the bumpy breaking zones as it would be easy to lock up the brakes and as such they have to back off the brakes a bit. And the whole track is getting bumpier. Regardless, I think they were having a bit of an off day while I was on it that's why it was fairly close. Man I'd like to turn a few laps in one of those cars. Lol! You killed it too my friend. Nice work out there this weekend despite your tire issues...

John I understand some of the pros and cons of not having ABS brakes on the track and wanted to know if you prefer it and could cup cars mentioned add after market or is it not allowed.

You're correct, sequential dog box, new ones have pneumatic paddles that make the shifts.
Nice driving! Your car is ripping. To hang with a 7 cup is no small feat.
