Airbag light just came on...
Well, as I was driving tonight, my airbag light came on and the comp flashed "airbag failure"... I tried disconnecting the battery, but all this did was make me search for the radio code and reset the clock . Does this sound like a trip to the dealer?? I think I remember hearing that this is a somwhat common problem... is it?? What could have caused this??
Thanks guys,
Evan

This was extremely common on the early 996 cars - go to the dealer for fix, as I recall related to the seat belt sensor.
I don't believe I've ever seen SY with the aerokit - post some pictures of this puppy.

Here's the info from early 996 problem...
Go to my site below and click on the airbag light problem. There were numerous TSBs on it, but these should not affect your model (you'd think by now they figured this out). But who knows.

Apparently the air-bags and seat belts are one the same sensor loop, thus a small sensor- error in the seat-belt harness will trigger the "Air-bag indicator light". I had the same thing on my 02TT. The car was quickly booked in for service, and the problem was resolved!
