I have never dealt with TruSpeed, so I can only make the observation that when I first noticed them on Ebay Motors, they had crazy low prices on Ferrari 550s, that turned out to be salvage titles. They were very up front on this. Not in anyway saying they were dishonest, just that they seemed to be in the rehab business.

Presume you've checked the Carfax and looked at all the service records. And called the previous owner?

I have dealt with TruSpeed, namely Rob Morgan. Rob is a very up-front guy and will tell you what he knows about the cars he has. We have done several PPI's on TruSpeed cars at the request of the buyer. and advised them of any problems we find. In our experience, the cars from TruSpeed have been of very good quality and as advertised. On occasion, a surprise has been found that the dealer was not aware of, and to TruSpeeds credit they have been very willing to make the situation right. You might want to post this query on the 993 board, there are some gentlemen that freqent the board that have bought cars from TruSpeed.

I ended up buying another car, only because it was closer to home and we were able to reach an agreement on price much sooner.

But I did fly down to Truspeed and met with Rob. I will say that the car looked great and Rob and his staff were very courteous and professional. Had Rob and I been able to agree on a final price, I would've had no hesitation to buy the car from him. He even advised me to take the car to the local Porsche dealer for a PPI and offered to help with the arrangement.

John,

With all the talk about prices, can you disclose the price range your seller was asking, and what you were able to negotiate to? No better than from an actual transaction as to where prices are headed.

Michael, the owner wanted $90K. I was able to talk him down a bit.

I think the current market for MY01 TTs with low mileage (10K or less) in mint condition is mid 80s to 90K. Most dealers or sellers will have a higher asking price and they may get it if they're willing to wait for the right buyer. But if they really want to move the car, that's the range they need to be.
