IMHO the GMGs are the best bars out there.

that 3 way bar just looks a copy of a gt3 bar!? surely it cannot be "better" than that? or if so.. how!?

It's the pretty blue color that makes it better, naturally. The OEM GT3 bars are the same bars used on cup cars. Proven stuff, 5way fronts and 4 way rears... Those get my vote...

The GMGs are larger, just as light as the GT3 bars and way cheaper.

They are made by Eibach for GMG to meet the spec for World Challenge Porsche 911's.
They are also hollow & come with stiffer bushings.

surprised you didn't go for the color coded gmg's to match your car just kidding!

I like the extra range of adjustment you get with the OEM GT3 bars, 5 way front, 4 way rear. The Eibach/GMG are only 3 way. There is a common misconception that stiffer sway bars are better. Having to run overly stiff sway bars is just a bandaid for a poorly tuned suspension as you are basically trying to keep body roll check due to an under sprung suspension. Sway bars are a fine tuning tool and as such don't need to be super stiff. Not saying the GMG sways are bad, they are fine bars but would not be my preference if given the choice. The whole "stiffer is better" is just a marketing strategy but being stiffer does not necessarily make them better is all I'm trying to say. They are cheap however and that's a plus. I think the red Eibachs are even more affordable...

With the rest of the suspension stock the GMGs bars offer all the adjustment most drivers will ever need and at half the price and at the same weight as the GT3 bars. Powerhound is 100% correct in saying that if you really want to make your Turbo handle it takes more than bars. The OEM spring rates are not idea, but as with everything it is all about how far you want go ($$$$$$$$$) with the entire package. If someone is just looking to tame the understeer in the OEM suspension the GMGs do the job very well.

The red Eibachs and H&R bars are also good but they are solid and thus very stiff and heavy but I know a few guys that love them. Whatever fits your needs is all you need IMHO.

If it snapped I am not sure how it can be "higher end"? More expensive yes but......and there are numerous GT3 race teams that use the GMG bars over the OEM racing units. Next time you are watching an IMSA or WEC race look for the GMG stickers on the cars. There are a quite few.

If you are happy with OEM then enjoy.

i dont have enough experience with one type over another. the gt3 sways were on the car when i got it. so replacing w same seemed prudent. as to how it snapped if i had to guess i'd say the flange end is the weakest link and age along with very hard bouncing corners can take its toll. i was surprised, that is for sure. but perhaps a stiffer bar wouldn't have snapped. i'll never know as i just immediately replaced it with another gt3 bar! my intution aong with general satisfaction with porsche's "sport/race" version of their parts usually/always work quite well and all else being equal ( if/when it is? ) i'll always use the oem parts when anywhere i can.

that's just very generalized wisdom and the hounds' general advice also, and with my limited experience it seems like sage advice as others have told me essentially the same thing. oem when possible! ( usually ) works for me
