Default New Bosch MAF cured many woes

Installed a new Bosch MAF 0280218009 Air Mass Sensor

After many recommendations from other R-listers to solve the following woes;
1.Bad hesitation/bogging from start off.
2. PASM/ABS warning light (occasional)
3. Check engine light (occasional)
4. Slow boost pressure build up under full throttle.

Motor is a EVOMS stage 3 with 60k miles.

After the new MAF install it felt like a complete new motor transplant!!
crazy boost power to 1.0, no more warning lights and silky smooth acceleration , hard kick in the butt shifts with tip.

I noticed on the old MAF had water spots which may have lead to its demise.

Well worth the 180 smackers.

only $180? I thought they cost more than that. where did you source it? Glad to hear it worked out well. Enjoy the silky smooth acceleration.

Cleaned my MAF yesterday, it worked a treat.
Car now runs better with lower idle revs, no more hunting and smoother acceleration.

What cleaning product did you use?

agree. highly dubious about "cleaning" a maf but if it worked for jim?.. cool, only a matter of time, as it's a stopgap measure at best.

for those with oiled filters i would try maf cleaning only if i was still running a bmc.

Well, I did clean mine last week end and I noticed a significant difference so far on the low rev hesitation (like a short stumble) when starting from a standing point, it was very annoying. So I'm very pleased with this but I'll have to wait and see if it really did the trick...

Hopefully it will stay fixed. In the past on my Audi TT they would be ok for a while but not last, cleaned my A4 recently as I was changing filter but was not showing and problems previously.
