Default Tire size and spacer help please

Trying to help out a friend here. He is buying my set of BBS e88's. The specs of the wheels are 19 x 9 et50 and 19 x 12 et64. I know the fronts will bolt on just fine. For the rears, what is the ideal offset for a 996tt with a 12 inch wheel? ET 45ish? His car is stock ride height, he does bring it to the track every now and again. What would be the recommended tire sizes for this set up?

Thanks for any help

+64 is no good, if he did +30 to say +40ish he'd be good.
Tell your friend to rebuild the rears because they won't fit

Adding a spacer makes the offset lower, not higher. So adding a 20mm spacer would bring the et64 to a final et of 44. Is ET44 a good offset for a 12" wheel on a 996tt?

I think a final offset of 40-51 would fit. Yes the spacer does decrease the offset. That's why we can run narrow body wheels with spacers and they can't run our wheels because they stick out to much.

Found some good info from the Tire rack guys

19 x 9 ET 50 - OK

19 x 12 ET64 w/ 17mm spacer - Final ET 47 - OK

Tire size for 19/9 and 19/12 - 235/35 and 315/25 Michelin PSS.

Look ok?

Yes that looks ok. Not sure about stock height but I have it lowered and need to bend some plastic wheel liner back with a heat gun to get the 315's to fit. Though at stock height they may not be a problem and you really could push out the wheel as much as you want.

Thanks! Would it be better to run 245/35 and 305/30 Michelin PSS. At stock height if he ran a 20mm spacer for a final et of 44, would this be ok?

Stock offset is 45 on 11" wheels and people put 5-7mm spacers on stock wheels so 38 offset. So yah I think 44 is np. For 19" 235/35 315/25 is perfect I run 18" 235/40 315/30

The wheel will stick out. Nothing like owning a super nice set of wheels and putting them on ghetto like. Redo the rears, do it properly, please.

What are you talking about?? You have your offsets backwords. The smaller the number, the closer they are to the outer edge of the fender.

I run 245/40 and 315/35 on 18x9 ET47 and 18x12 ET40. Fit is perfect with no rubbing even at just slightly above cup height

I run 9x12x18 with a 40 offset front and rear. It suits the car just fine.
