Default Warm up period?

My 03x-50 seems to get to its operating temp really quickly, within 2 miles from a cold start. Is the temp gauge an accurate reading of the oil temp? I don't want to start any hard driving before the engine is warm, what does everyone else do? By the way just passed 2000 miles and I couldn't be happier with the car. Rock solid at 170 and the power band is phenomenal, pulling hard till I ran out of road. Truly a super car. fish

According to the manual you are NOT supposed to let the car idle until warm. Instead, drive it while limiting RPM to around 4K for the first few minutes/miles...these things warm up pretty darn fast!!
I had to drive my 01 TT a few times in the winter and it warms up very fast even in cold temperatures!!
