Default Someone talk me out of this...

Have an 01tt 46K miles techart all around and a nice tune and exhaust. My wife has been trying to convince me to sell the tt and pick up a more tame car thats not too load and not too harsh and bumpy as the tt. She wants me to get an audi S5. I've looked at it and have driven it (the 08-10 4.2 v8) nice car but it definitely is no sports car and a bit heavy for me. It is a much smoother and quieter ride and much newer with the bells and whistles of a nice interior. I keep telling her its nice but it's not car for me and heck I see them everywhere plus we have her A6 to roll around with when we go out. She doesn't like riding in the tt at all due to the sport feel and sporty exhaust note---hahaha.. But lately I've been on the fence about it until I get in the car by myself and hit the throttle (she hates when I do that when she is in it--doesn't get the rush of the turbos spooling). i've been tempted and trying to stay away.... Maybe an R8... hmmmmm...

Default DBAP.

Kindly tell her no. That is your man car and you will resent her for making the switch.

Enjoy!

Sack-up and and tell her, "NOPE" or tuck your sack back between your legs and say, "yes dear" and reminisce about "that time I used to have a 996TT"...your choice, let us know how it turns out.

There are some women that might deserve a "yes dear" reply.

Indeed, but only the OP can make that call in this instance.

Regret > yes dear. A woman that loves you and understands your passions doesn't make you or want you to sell your car, my wife is yes dear but she also drives 996TT to work

Well, we could make an input if we saw a picture of her...

I don't think blanket statements like this are always true.

I'm not touching that one other that to say I'm not sure we could determine how "deserving" she is just by looking at a picture. LOL

.....it would have to be a video. Yes, a video of both the car and the significant other must be made available, only then can we determine the appropriate response.

It's the best we can do (I'm kidding about all of this of course, as none of us here can offer any accurate feedback for him given that we don't actually know his wife).

Ok, now we're at a point where we decide on the car or the wife ?

Poor guy wants us to give him some good debate points in rebuttal to his wife's demands and all you guys want to do is get a picture of his wife to see if the argument is worth all the trouble.

Here is what you do: While she's busy visiting her mother or on another trip, trade in her Audi for the S5, keep the 996TT and tell her she got her wish. When she points out that's not what she meant, act confused and admit you didn't completely understand and just wanted to please her due to you undeniable and endless love for her. Act dejected, she'll feel sorry for you and forget your mistake. Look, I've been married 45 years so I know quite a few tricks.
