Default ps2 with ps supersport

I've got pretty new michelin ps 2 on the back of my 04 turbo. the front ps2's have very little tread left which I think is causing the psm to come on way to soon in hard turning.
I've heard that the ps supersport are more modern and better tires and they are 80 bucks cheaper than the ps2s.

any problem put the super sports int he front and keeping the ps2's int he back?
don't want to change one mismatch problem for another.

I wouldn't mix the PS2 and PSS.

i'm with paul on this also. mixing tire types seems a lousy idea. though some might say that as long as they are the same type of tread pattern on either end of the car, you'll be fine.

you'd be amazed at what haphazard combos have been tried on these cars, with varying degrees of success/failure. i'm not so sure there's a world of difference btw the pss and the ps2's myself.. but still i wouldn't.

my advice would be just buy some new ps2's for the front to match the new rears. theyre olnly about 285 each +/-.

i think ps2's are about as good as they come for this car.

ok thanks. I'm running pretty big tires. 235 35 19 and 315 25 19 rears. psm comes on pretty easily. rear tires are new front have some but not much tread left. I'm hoping that's the problem with psm.

rick. new against old ( tires ) always have the propensity to throwing abs/psm cels. but as long as they are within spec ( rolling diameter should never exceed 3% front to rear so as to not cause undue stress on the front viscous coupler ), they should settle in as the ecu adjusts to the "newer" tire(s)

none of which addressess the issue of mixing tread patterns. but you get the drift. just more stuff on the learning curve lol

ordered the new front ps 2. should have them installed tomorrow afternoon.
doing an auto cross on saturday at a pca event in stockton. I understand I have to put some miles on them before both for the psm recab and also to get some wear.
hopefully that will solve the psm on problem.
went to festival of speed on saturday and I tested a new 911 on a mini autocross. much much better grip than my car, sure it's newer but I have coil overs set pretty agressively and 4 wheel drive.
seems to me that even my 928 s4 handles some types of cornering better. I'm hoping it's the imbalance in the rolling diameter

got the new ps2s on. drove them alittle. seems like the grip is much better. will have to do some more testing before the autocross on saturday.
the old fronts had around 4/32 left and the rears were basically brand new, so it was quite a difference in rolling diameter. I'm hoping that the difference was the reason the psm would kick in way too soon.
so far so good.
