Radio Problem
I have a 03 Turbo with the MOST system and BOSE. My battery had run way down to the point the car would barely turn over and not start. I put the battery charger on the car for an hour and it fired right up. Now I get a error message on the screen saying the amp and CD changer arent working
The radio turns on and the Nav works but no sound. Is this something that unhooking the battery for a bit to let the computer reset might correct? Anybody else had this happen? The CD changer has power as I can eject the CD cassette in the trunk and see lights in it. The dealer had told me last year that this model radio has no theft code so thats not the problem.
I need a new battery but would like the radio back until after the holidays when I get a chance to get one.
Thanks

Do you have the Dension unit installed? I had a similar problem with the Dension unit and my OEM radio. I had to totally reset the Dension unit and then it worked. Best thing I did was rip all that out and put in a pioneer head unit.

Worth a shot.
However, I would recommend that instead of disconnecting the battery pull the fuse or fuses associated with the radio/stereo equipment.
My 03's radio gets into a goofy state once in a while and if I want to resurrect the thing I have to shut off the engine and remove the key and wait 3 minutes. (The car's electronics take 3 minutes to shut down even after everything has been turned off.) The tech said if I wanted to shorten the time I could pull the fuse but that's too much trouble.

My switch has gotten really stiff to turn sometimes. maybe I will change it out after trying the fuses. Only fuse I saw for the radio was in the fuse box on the driver side. I pulled that one yesterday but didnt leave it out for 3 minutes. Is there another fuse box besides that one that might have the amp and CD changer fuse? The auto up and down on the windows also wasnt working when I first started it after the charge but they are now working normal.

Yes, try disconnecting the battery as a "reset". Weird things happen with these cars when the battery dies or gets near dead. Try that and the ignition switch replacement. If that doesn't work many shops have the equipment to do a full factory reboot of the electric/computer system on the car. That will definitely fix it.

I had my battery out for a week while replacing my suspension. After everything went back together, the radio would light up, cd would eject and load, but no sound. Next day, worked fine. Following day, back to won't work. 2 days later it worked again and have not had the problem again (about 2 months now). My best guess is something reset itself. I'd wait a few days of trying every day before spending a lot of money and effort.

I am going to wait until i put the new ignition switch in and get a new battery after the holidays before dealing with it anymore. Time to just drive it and enjoy the sound from the motor for a while. Thanks for the suggestions guys and Happy Thanksgiving
