After 7 days of not driving my car when I went to start it this morning the battery was nearly dead. It turned over partialy then did the clicking sound. I tried it one more time and it started and magically the radio started working again. i guess when it shut down momentarly it reset the computer or something and rebooted the radio. i am getting a new battery this weekend for sure. I did buy the back part of the ignition switch and will do that while swapping out the batteries. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Get a Battery Tender Jr trickle charger. It comes with a harness that goes ontot the battery terminals with a disconnect.

u can get it lot less than the mfg site if you do a search.

i'd bet that after a new battery and switch replacement, all will work as it should. can you imagine my joy at my radio operability returning after replacing a $10 switch? it's the little things lol. gl.
