Default Price Check on a 996 Turbo S

I've been checking autotrader.com, craigslist, cars.com, and eBay, and it seems like there's quite a price range for 996 Turbo S cars. I was hoping to get some input on what a fair market value is for a black/black 2005 Turbo S with about 45k miles on it. Stock and never modified. No accidents/clean title. Apparently well-documented. Thanks!

The places your looking are the best way to find a retail ballpark figure, other then someone telling you what they paid/got for Thiers. Auction readouts are not very helpful because that's wholesale/dealer. I would pay more for a low mileage stock well kept car but that's me= other opinions will vary lol.

My cab is Turbo S spec (2004 x50 with PCCB) and had 9K miles and I got it for high 50Ks. It also had a fidelity warranty. The 05 because it has the S on the badge was going for 7-10K more over mine. With your miles and a well sorted car I would think mid 50s is fair.

Yeah, I'd go for a GT2 long before I spent that kind of coin for a Turbo S.

The wholesale on a car as you describe is somewhere between $60-64K.

+1 on all accounts. 04-05 Turbo S should be mid 50's and up; on occasion, one or more well kept ones may sell below, but the are snapped up quickly.
A buddy was 997 Turbo hunting and found a one owner 08 low mile black/black for $68k, but he didn't want to pull the trigger at that price and it sold within a few hours . It was a long distance sale, so he was calculating expenses. Someone local to the car could have been ideal for a thorough PPI, test drive, and done the deal real easy.

For 05' the 996tt displays the "Turbo S" badge on the tach, door panels and dash. Also on the rear deck it reads "Turbo S". The 2005 996tt was the only model produced that year. All others were 997 models.
Production of the "S" was very limited; like around a 1,000 or so. The cars were rumored to be built from leftover parts.
The cars will hold value as they would be the most expensive run of the series. Probably MSRP close to$160,000..

I recently purchased a 2005 996 Turbo S cab with 19k. It is polar silver metallic with metropol blue full leather interior and matching blue top. MSRP was 155k and I purchased it as a one-owner car with 4/48k warranty for 63900. Virginia dealership.

The Turbo S was only manufactured in 05. There is a nice, low mile (23K?), black/black Turbo S cab for sale at Porsche of Arlington here in VA. It has an aftermarket exhaust and GT3 wheels. I've seen it, it's nice. Asking is $72,899 which based upon my experience with them as a customer, is very negotiable. But, at that price I'd buy an 07/08 997TT or a slightly older GT3. JMO

congrats jay on your 996tts...sounds like a great buy.
4ocious - even tho turbo s is nice, didn't the 06+ turbos have even more hp than the turbo "s", so if too much premium, then go for 997tt?
