Pricing question

Keep in mind that if the dealer thinks you are not worth the demands you're making and they know they have a worthwhile car that will sell without the hassle, the dealer will sell it to someone else. So, you have to know when to back off a bit and find a negotiating strategy that works.

Thedude,
Very interesting. That's what you don't want to have happen and personally I think it sucks that someone represented a car like that. It's not that I won't fly to see the car, but it's not ideal to hop on a plane, and do this, kids, job, etc. Anyone here that knows DC motors?Again, you take someone at there word hoping they are honest.[/
I'll be in that area on Tuesday if you'd like me to look at the car...

I just wanted to thank one of the rennlisters on here who did me a huge favor. Talk about a great guy that goes out of his way to look at a car, spends 3 hours going over it, drives it, lift etc. Unfortunately, I couldn't pull the trigger on this particular car due to pricing issues and factoring transportation, fees, etc. If anyone out there is considering this car, I think it's a home run but its all the money also. FWIW, dealers don't seem to be dealing much off sticker, and these cars seem to be quite stable between upper forties/low fifties. I have found an o3 x50 package car with 38k miles that has an asking price of just under $50k. Here we go again.......

Are you considering coupes and cabs. What color is the 03 you found?

I have made a couple of offers but no one seems to be dealing much. I am looking at a couple of Slate grey with natural brown coupes around the country. I am trying to make up my mind and made an offer to a dealer up north but he was waiting thru the weekend as he believed he would get closer to his asking price. The salesman was pretty honest with me over the phone in the description of the car(Needs Tires, etc) so I offered the sales manager a number that I thought was reasonable, but so far, no dice. I believe 45-50k should buy a very nice example but cant see spending more than that. I will continue looking

When I first started looking at the end of March I spotted a lot of nice cars in the 40-50 range, I also have noticed that the prices are now holding and seem to be going up a little? There were two cars I past on, and now wish I would have grabbed. I didn't know they were good deals at the time.
