I am badly color blind so they all look the same to me LOL. I also couldn't tell how that picture was photoshopped. Personally I like a darker and deeper blue. Not sure I would order that color.

That car is definitely either Mexico or Riviera Blue.

I've seen that car advertised before, pretty sure it is Pastel Blue.
.
That is correct. The Carrera in this pic is mine.
Actually that picture is mine, you're welcome!
.
Well I took the pic and loaded it to Rennlist and I can can guarantee you that it's not photo shopped. I think it does represent the colors fairly well for the lighting conditions that were present. Sunny day, my car sitting in about 50% shade from nearby tree. Actually, I just looked at the pic again and the two cars probably do look a little bit to dark blue.
Porsche is the master of chameleon paint colors. Riviera and Mexico Blue are two glaring examples of this. The picture of the ex-Rahal Spyder was taken indoors. Indoor lighting gives Riviera a very pastel hue, very different than when viewed outdoors. I believe that photo represents Riviera well for an indoor shot. Riviera is one of those colors that is very difficult to photograph if you ask me. As you suggest, camera settings become very important to get nice shots. My shot above was taken with a Canon point and shoot.
Definitely not Gulf.
For those who suggested mexico blue or riviera, I'm not too sure. The car I posted has like a hint of green in it. I, for one am totally obsessed with mexico blue and I plan to have my car painted in that color. Actually, mexico blue and riviera are very close and although riviera is generally lighter than mexico blue, in some pictures it can be vice versa.
When we had the cars parked side by side that day, in that lighting, no one could see any difference between the two colors, including myself. Later we moved the cars to avoid the encroaching masses. Under full sunlight you could just barely make out the slightest difference. Riviera was a shade lighter than Mexico. I think this shot shows both colors well.

The camera settings are off or the pic was photo-shopped. You can see by the sky and tree line, that's not representative of the colors imo.
Here's Graham Rahal's 981 Boxster. This is Riviera Blue (it's for sale at Byers Imports if you want it...lol)
We need Eduardo in this thread, he can probably determine which it is.

Yes.
Different lighting, different cameras, different computer screens, there is not a person alive who could answer that question and be anywhere close to certain. (except the owner of the car) Even harder still with indoor lighting. The two colors side by side would be indistinguishable from each other indoors.

I searched over 2 years to find a color like that, I would have paid 997 Turbo money for that car. Simply unreal! Its a real shame the 996 didnt come in more wacky colors. I remember an old commercial where a bunch a porsche engineers were sitting around, I think with some jelly beans and coming up with ideas for cool car colors. Ive hunted on Youtube cant find it.

Pirahna,
You just made my night! I always told my wife of this commercial I saw as a kid, and right then and there I was addicted to Porsches! I like 13 or 14 if I recall. Needless to say, I just showed it to her.
Gracias!

My car is a paint to sample 996 Turbo (2001) in "Bugatti Strong Blue" and looks a couple shades darker than the mexico blue and riviera blue in situations with a lot of light but takes on a much darker personality in low light (night/overcast).
