Anyone try BFGoodrich R1 tires for track use?
Just curious if anyone has tried BFGoodrich R1 tires for track use? Currently I use NT01s in a 235/40/18 and 315/30/18. I was thinking of trying the R1s in a 245/40/18 and 335/30/18. The R1s are actually lighter than the Nittos and priced comparably. The R1s run a touch small diameter wise which would help with sidewall flex and clearance issues where maybe even the 265/35/18 might fit up front. The 245 is 25.4", 265 is 25.0" and the 335 is 25.7" in diameter. Any thoughts?

I can see how running the 235/315 NT01s on stock rims would give you a bit of flex as the stock turbo twists are only 8" and 11" wide and would "pinch" the tire a bit. My CCWs are 9" and 12" and that helps stretch the tire a bit and stiffen it up.
