spoiler failure

I took out my turbo to wet the seals yesterday and I encountered the dreaded spoiler failure as I entered the highway. Fortunately, the car is CPO for another year plus. I want to have it properly repaired so it doesn't happen again anytime soon. So, what should I make sure the dealer addresses while it is under warranty? I assume there are common issues (leaking rams, motor, etc.)
Thank you in advance,
MM

Switch contacts on the right ram. Sometimes the switches go bad. But I bet you have a leaky ram and the oil has drained to a level it can't pump the ram up.

Labor to remove the old system, replace the new system, check out the functioning of the new system, including the limit switches, is around 2 hours.
'course with the warranty on your car everything will be done at no cost to you.
Afterwards your car should be good to go.
If you want to, and it is not a bad idea, keep an eye on the ram housings, the black cylindrical shaped things that stick out from the underside of the engine compartment lid for any signs of fluid leakage. Wipe them off with a clean white paper towel every once in a while. If you see fluid on the towel....the new system is leaking and will have to be replaced.
Do not delay. The warranty on the replacement spoiler system and labor runs out when the CPO warranty runs out.

CPO - dealer replaces entire unit. Then you've got a 2 year warranty from date of install.

Thank you for the information everyone, very helpful. I hope they made some updates, similar to what they have done with the accumulators, due to the abnormally high failure rates of the spoilers.

Not the factory GT2 spoiler. I looked into this and the spoiler wing and the rear deck lid -- to which the fixed wing mounts to -- costs around $10000. That's $1 followed 4 zeros.

I'd go with the carbon misha wing if I had to. Though you could just raise the wing and change the wiring harness so it stays permanently raised.

In fact in my car's case at least one cylinder had already lost enough fluid to the point the wing on my Turbo was going up unevenly that prompted me to once it was lowered to remove the fuse from the spoiler electrical circuit.

For less than $2500 -- and no visit to the paint shop -- I can have the stock system replaced with a factory new one.
Which is probably what I'll do when I get around to it.

To put GT2 aero on turbo using oem components is big $. In the end, probably more cost effective to buy a GT2. Then you have a GT2, not a turbo modified to look like GT2.
(Although used components can sometimes be had at a significant discount over cost new - still looking at around $10,000 installed for front and rear).
