Mine works, but is pretty slow. Have noticed it in previous years, and now winter is well on the way, I'm noticing it again.
It does work - but for example, on Sat night it was well misted up - about 4 degrees outside - and the rear window was still not completely clear when I got home 20-25 mins / 15 miles later. You could still see strips of mist between the elements.
When I had my 964, I remember a thread where someone stated that the heated rear window was a two stage process - initially at high power, and then it drops down to a lower power. I assume the turbo is the same - and given how long mine seems to take to clear I'd guess mine is only working on lower power?
Any ideas what I can check to solve this? Or is it normal and they all take 30 mins to clear completely?
