Default 996 TT rear spoiler "Cheat" - fixed spoiler

hello to all,
I was wondering if there is a way to permanetelly raise the rear automatic spoiler of our TT. ( yes I am one of you that DO have problem with it)

my guess is that
1.we can disonect the high pressure lines and somehow permanettelly close them.
2.raise the rear spoiler manually.
3. fill up the bottles with oil
4. tap them

will it work?

There is a kit on eBay that converts it to a fixed wing. I can't remember who makes it, but it is fairly inexpensive.

You will have to remove the wing first. Next the pump, hoses and rams. Insert a metal pin the length that you want the ram raised through the threaded hole in the bottom of the ram, then cap with a bolt where the banjo bolt was installed. I made my pins out of 1/8" steel rod. You will need a hydraulic press to install the pins and cap bolt. You will not need to reinstall the pump or hoses.

If you are handy you can do what Nick says above, or you can have someone make you posts to bolt on instead of the rams.

Or you can do what I did and the other poster above said, get the eBay kit. When it arrives, you will think man, that seems like a lot of money for this bag of hardware, but once you go to install it, you will see that parts were indeed created for this to work as easily and as well as it does. In the end, its worth it. You will also have fantastic support from the designer.

I bought the extended height kit for $20 more. I have a GT2 wing and have found that it is too high, so Ive lowered it to about the height of the stock height kit.

I bought the extra height kit for my '04 TT Cab and it looks great. My indie mechanic installed in about an hour. It would have taken more than the cost of the kit to develope the individual parts/pieces so think the kit is good value.

You mean when there's no air flowing over the spoiler?

not exactly

having in mind that rear spoiler lifts at about 120 klms/h and goes down at about 30 klms/h ( i think) if it is permanetelly lift up when the car is rolling should there be a downforce problem ?

am I clear?

it is down at low speeds for the reducing drag factor, up at high speed to increase downforce
