Default Winter Projects

Well, as autumn is upon me, I need to start thinking about what projects to do when the turbo goes into hibernation. Every year, I put my P-car on the lift and do some "projects." Here's what I'm thinking so far this year:

1) Refinish the OEM wheels. My car is Carrara White and the OEM wheels match the exterior. I had them refinished a year ago, and the shop did a crappy job. Want something done right, as they say...

I'm also thinking of painting the "mesh" parts of my BBS LM's body color as well, but haven't fully decided on that. It's easy enough to put them back if I don't like it.

2) Sway bars. I'm going to upgrade the sways. I'm thinking a set of H&R, but am open to ideas as well.

3) Short Shifter. I'm still debating whether to just do a 997 shifter, or actually go for the short shifter.

4) New pads and rotors. Will flush the brakes at the same time.

5) Interior repairs. My dash rattles like a ****, and one of my plastic painted seatback shells is broken and needs to be replaced.

The car runs good, and all of the fluids except for the brake fluid are fresh. Plugs, MAF Sensors are replaced, all new filters, etc. No leaks that I'm aware of as well.

What else should I be looking at? Any other low hanging fruit?

Hey Scott,

I am planning on getting my extra set of stock wheels painted as well, so any idea which shop you are going to go with?

I was told Wheel Doctor in Blue Ash is pretty good, any idea?

Thanks

They did mine last time and did ok. They used a PPG paint on my wheels and the color is off a shade (needs a little more yellow), so I'm going to bead blast them and start over. Matching white can be a headache, so I don't blame them per se.

I didn't have time when I needed them done the first time, but now I don't have that problem.

You may also want to give PaintPowderPros.com a call, they seem to do good work as well.
