for every one given away, I saw a 2000 TT today, 19000kms on the clock, so about 11000miles. Looked in good shape. I wouldn't say concourse, asking price 60000euros, so about 79000usd.

mine was a 2 owner 34,000 miles and 40$ in mods and hre wheels. 55k out the door. its what the market will bear. if your financing a car your at the mercy of the dealer, if your a cash buyer theres a lot of nice 996 turbos out there waiting to be snapped up!

Lots of owners are selling their cars for low prices. Sure there are some that hold onto their Turbos until someone pays what the car is worth, but just look at the last several years on this forum. It reads lots of times like "help me buy the best Turbo for the most rock bottom price possible". It's like the 996 Turbo section is a used car site..."look how cheap I got my Turbo for". It amazes me that Turbo owners are so willing to encourage buyers to essentially low ball the car they are considering. All the Turbo owners are doing is shooting themselves in the foot regarding the value of their own Turbos.
I don't come to this forum to try to help people pay below what I think these cars are worth. I'm here to encourage owners to demand more for their cars when they sell them.

Well for what its worth... Two "fun cars" ago, which would be around 08/09 or so for me, when I was buying my third NSX I also considered a 911 Turbo. With a budget of around $45k I found some decent ones, but went back to the NSX.
In 2011 I decided to do the GTR for a year, but took a look at 996 turbos anyway (I love the 996) Market seemed about the same as where it was last time I looked.
I recently decided to split the GTR into a "fun car" and a truck, which pushed my budget down to mid 30s. I opted for a babied, low mileage, mid-life, loaded 996 C2. Turbos *still* seemed to be in that $45k range from what I could see. Yes there are beaten to death, high mileage, outliers that people love to quote... But *actual good cars*, that dont have an accident history, that have reasonable mileage, that havent had 15 owners (this matters IMO), are still fetching about what they did *four years ago* from what I saw. That aint bad!
personally I didnt want a turbo. I wanted RWD and light weight, but if I *were* looking to get into a 996 Turbo Id have had to push my budget back up to where it was last time I looked in 08 or been willing to settle for higher mileage.
