I'm new to the 996, but not new to P-cars and 911 turbos. I picked this gem up in Marietta, Ga. last week and drove it back to Iowa. 26 MPG cruising? seriously awesome.

Yeah, about that.... it seems where red is by far the most common color of other M/Y Porsches, they're relatively scarce in the 996TT for whatever reason.
The black is really starting to grow on me though. My dad always says, "nothing looks better than black when it's clean, nothing is worse when it's not".

Great first drive! +1 your Dad.
When my son was very young he bled green and yellow. Ronald McDonald never really phased him, but he was badly bitten by the John Deere bug!

How did each of you, daedalus, and the OP handle the drive away in terms of title, registration and license plates driving across multiple states?
Congrats to both of you for your TT acquisitions!

Hi Ben,
Congratulations on your new acquisition!
Wife and I (well, really me) are looking at 996TTs for our next purchase. Can't believe the Super Car bargains these are at the moment and what you get in terms of performance, style and technology for your money. Reminds me of the 928s in a way.
So what is your driving impressions between the 928 and 996TT?
Have fun,
