Default interesting interior...

Saw this recently @ a local repair shop.
Do you think this was done in Stuttgart, or Mexico?
(saying that 'cause we are 1 hour north of the border)
Fabric was a very dark grey / black velour.

Balance of the interior was a mix of this diamond pattern and CF bits.

Kind of a "snakeskin" look.

At least it's not an LV or Gucci pattern.

That's when you discover the shop sold the airbags and stuffed plastic grocery bags in their place....

True the stitching on the middle of the leather cover opens, whereas this will impede the airbag!

If the stitching was on the fabric and the fabric warped over the airbag then it won't hurt or change the airbag function. I'm betting the fabric has a stitch pattern to it and the door was taken apart and wrapped.
They did atlease get the stitching lined up. That's says they tried IMO.

I'd like to see the whole interior but I'm thinking it's not to my taste.

Not so sure you are correct. The airbag is deployed from the center of the cover. When activated the cover splits open! In this case, I see no allowance for center deployment, therefore it will impede the launch of the side airbag.

Maybe not all airbags are the same? The caddy's are all under plastic. The center of my Turbo door airbag is stitched. If you've ever seen these things deploy then you understand the force of them. I'd bet the airbag splits the stitching on the new material like the OEM.

But I doubt he wants to find out and in the end it's a moot point to me.

How do you KNOW this? Or is this your theory?

I'm pretty sure that was hand tooled in Mexico!
