ohh do we just apply the grease to the slave and insert it or do we have to take any more parts out to do it?

Put a small blob, end of your pinky worth, on the bullet/ball end of the actuator rod so that it gets carried into the "socket" of the fork. I have Ultron synthetic wheel bearing grease that I would use. YMMV
