Default Upgrade Plasma Coil Pack - Opinion?

Hi,

I would like to know some opinions about the plasma coil pack.

Probably is my next upgrade.

Please, for those who have the plasma coil pack can tell us the differences between this and the stock coils.

Thanks,
VS

Never heard them discussed down here. My general impressions of them is that the higher spark does allow for more timing. The downside is that they burn up quicker. I also have no clue as to how much additional spark they give you over the Bosch 997 packs.

Given the 3-4x cost of the coil packs, amount of labor involved in getting to them, and presumption that you will be replacing them more frequently... it could be an expensive upgrade for a nominal power increase.

From reading research on other cars, it sounds like 15-20 whp increases are typical. Maybe your tuner can get more than that out of them, but I would still want to understand how frequently they will need to be replaced.

Plug and coil pack labor was over 500$....something to think about.

I have no knowledge of what these are like but I think you should do it.
Your car will then be only left with the body panels and chassis of the 996 so you might as well remove these parts.
