Would a 911 suit me?
I think I just sold my Cayenne Turbo S. Center of gravity and handling almost enough, but not quite.
I had a 944 S2 in the past and was spoiled with the balance/handling.
So I'm looking for a coupe.
I test drove a 08 911 S and while the ride was bumpy in the city, it seemed like it might be MORE comfortable because of the handling/balance. More comfortable than the cayenne or a regular sedan. If I did get a turbo, it would likely be a 02 or 03.
I'm looking for a daily driver mainly, a car that I would try to find excuses to jump in and drive. I drive 300 miles south on the weekends, and just errands during the week (I walk to work).
Would a 911 be comfortable enought for my 49 year-old 225 lb sorry butt? I mean the ride.
I think I'd be okay with a 968 or even a 944, but I'd need to find a ding free and well maintained nice rider. Could use some help here as well.

I think you'll have to just drive one and decide for yourself. It's clearly not the most comfortable car I own, but it's my favorite and long trips don't really bother me. I find the seats comfortable and supportive.
It's not my DD, but for the use you describe I would be fine with it as my primary car.

I did 1700 miles (2700km in my language) over 4 days a couple of weeks ago.
So your 300 miles on a weekend would be easy.
I did not have a problem with the comfort, (any more than doing that sork of distance in any car)
One of the days I drove from 6:30 am to 5 pm only stopping for fuel and food. I must admit that i did enjoy my first beer that night.
Go for it they are great

for me - the stock 996TT suspension felt softer and more comfortable over long distances than my cayenne S if thats what you are looking for. not sure on the cayenne turbo with the air ride stuff.
for that same reason, I tore it out and put motons on it

You may not like the stock seats if you're a larger framed guy but other than that a Turbo sounds like fun for the kind of driving you're talking about. The thing is a highway star.

I have all the time in the world to help people enjoy their cars particually porsches and am prepared to GIVE my time / advice / opinion to a complete stranger on the other side of the world.
All i ask in return is the respect that I have showen.
