Default Took the plunge UMW

I ordered one of Kevin's tunes yesterday. I was going to wait until my CPO expired and get the 2a. Since i can restore to the original program in case i need warranty work i decided to get the tune now and upgrade later. We are going to keep the redline and limiter at stock to avoid overevs showing up.

It was great talking to Kevin. The guy knows his stuff and asked questions I hadn't even thought of to make sure my tune resulted in exactly what I wanted.

We talked for ten minutes and I learned a lot about my motor that I didn't know.

Can't wait to get through the process.

Hey Lance,

Need to change your sig now.... Replace "in Love" to " o-wow"

Been thinking about Kevin's tune for my 997 TT but need to save some "Rokra" for clutch before taking the plunge though.

Hope all is well

Just sent the read data over to Kevin. Should have the flash back from him next week!

Invest in a muscle relaxer to relieve the face cramp pain from incessant smiling!!

Also, mine is a bit older than yours, but once I installed the UMW software it immediately identified how old my spark plugs were. You may want to plan on a few necessary upgrades to accomodate the added boost if yours are old as well. Kevin can tell you things you may want to consider alongside the software.

I'm almost due for my 60K mile service. I'm just under 57. I figured I would probably go ahead and get that done. I'm also still on my original clutch. No slipping so far, but it may get exposed with the additional boost. I'll upgrade whenever it has to be replaced.

FR6 LDC Bosch plugs.

Coil packs (he has them) are important too.

I got his clutch and lwfw.

Later got an exhaust.

Airbox is stock...

satisfied 100%.

predicted it
I am 60 yo, have driven a vehicle with a clutch since I was 8 (tractor- grew up on a farm), so am familiar with the whole clutch relaese/give gas thing. I can't tell you how many times I stalled my 2001 996TT, with stock dual mass fly wheel, on the hills in Seattle. Once flashed by Kevin, it never happened again - not to mention the whole "release the beast" thing that happens with the flash.

I did the clutch spring mod which fixed the stalling and giving my passengers whiplash in the other gears, but agree that with the tune it's a whole new level.

This is how the car should have come from the factory.
