Is 2001 996tt's starter different from other 3.6L's starter?
And Turbo's starter is different from NA's, right?
I will need to replace mine soon as it has strange noise.

I just went through this and still have part #SR0429X sitting in my room getting ready for return.
The Turbo starter is a little shorter than the other Porsche starters. Unless you want to remove some parts like the drive shaft for fitment, do not buy the Bosch reman part number (at least it didn't fit for me).
What I ended up doing was taking my old starter out and had a local shop rebuilt it. It was cheaper and I knew the part would be an exact match. Not a hard install, but not a lot of room to get to the top starter bolt.
