I have driven my TT with Kumho Ecstas for quite awhile now. Great tires for daily driving. Quiet and comfortable. However on very high speed the frame gives out. Beyond 150 mph they get grazy wobbly. On German autobahn they behave like crap. Realized what N-rated tires stand for.
On track when warmed up Ecstas are ok but when warmed a bit more they get buttery.

FYI Ecstas come in different models. The ones a lot of you are referring to are the SPT's. The XS's are an entirely different animal. The SPT's will squeal at the track and be unstable at higher speeds and are good in the wet. The Xs's are excellent on track, very stable but suck in the rain as they are a track oriented tire, unlike the SPT that are street oriented.

Need to put 4 new shoes on my 996TT. I've been thinking of putting either the Kumho's or Hancooks since I don't plan to do and DE's or autocross events. AND, the fact that the PS2's are twice the cost. I don't really need to worrry about wet traction since I live in southern CA and don't drive the P in the rain unless absolutely necessary. Curious as to recommendations on which you would choose between the K's and H's???

i ended up just hooking the michys back on till next year. I could not find a set here in Boise that was not 90 days out and my front left tire was shot. BTW, I shopped the Michys at three tire stores, and I will be dipped in butter and called a french fry, but the P Dealer was 400.00 cheaper than the tire dudes, and the dealer threw in an alignment.
