Default new 991

A good friend bought a 991 S last night. He drove it over and we compared it to my 996tt. Boy do my "big reds" look tiny now!
I am excited to go for a drive in it. Sticker was 117k

Nice comparsion photo. I was behind a yellow 991 turbo yesterday, paper license plate and all. It was sweet. The MSRP must be amazing too.

Unless you were behind a prototype test car, I don't think it was a 991 Turbo.

I sat in a 991 at a dealer last week - the interior was pretty nice, much more modern looking than the 996TT. Sticker was 123,000 - OUCH..

Out of the box the Carrera S will hit 60 just over 4 sec. Nothing but positives on the car from handling to interior styling which was taken partly from the Panameras. Dont think the 991 turbos have hit the street yet! The way I understand it is they are due out for 2013.
Can't wait to see how the Turbo 991 turns out! I know the twin turbos are being replaced with Tri Turbo induction.

Smart man to leave the busy model designation off the back of the car.

Friend of mine bid on a charity package sponsored by our local Porsche dealer that you got the 991 for a weekend, and 300 miles. After driving it, he thought it would out run his 997 GT-3 on the track.

IMHO, in the first pic, the 991 looks gigantic compared to the 996; wheels, brakes , the overall body dimension. Obv. the 991 is a bit closer to the camera, but still....

And the 991 S rear is uber wide. what are the body dimensions vs the 996 Turbo?

Is that the satellite antennae on the vent louvres? Come on man!
This is 2012. Even my 996 has it hidden from view.

It's the little things like this and the VW switch gear on the console that bother me about this new car.
