Front splitter

I built something similar with a 3" extension attaching only to the factory spoiler. Gained some more top end speed this season and last weekend the spoiler separated ftom the front bumper at about 6 or 8 attachment slots. the 2 end screws and the rest of the spoiler remained attached to the bumper.
I'll need to devise a way to secure that middle section. I don't want to use turnbuckles again--- they're just plain ugly. I will figure out something simple so that removal of the spoiler/splitter will still be easy.
This never occurred during the previous 2 events I ran with it last year but the additional top end gave enough downforce to separate the 2 pieces in the middle.

I think perhaps what you were experiencing is able to maintain higher speed IN, through and out of the turn which thus increased your top speed on the straights. I experienced this myself. Also, did you replace all the hardware under the front facia ? The OEM clips are wood screw clips, I would highly recommend to replace those with stainless steel clips that are machined screwed. I had the same issue you did (nothing ribbing as nothing is hoooked up the bumper like yours) and the splitter came lose after a few try's to 170mph, but didn't fall off. Since we swapped all the hardware (looks oem) but much stronger. I have done a few runs up to 170mph, with 0 issues.

We used 9 main screws that bolt to the bottom of front facia. Very scure and then 5 more to the aero lip.

Actually no, it was replacement of k16's with k24's. :-)
