Default Larger tire diameter?

This may be a stupid question, but has anyone looked into the possibility of increasing the overall tire diameter on their 996 TT? I get that the front and rear dia's have to match. Just wondering if it is possible to upsize all around. Maybe something more similar to the 997's. Flame gently, please.

I inquired on the same subject with a fellow RL'r. some have tried the 235/40/18 and 315/30/18 combo.
I entered the tires sizes on 1010tires.com and came up with the following:
25.40 front
25.44 rear

so it definitely looks like a good match. Also with the wider rears on a TT you will have to check the inner tire clearance to the wheel well to make sure there's no contact. That may be solved with the addition of spacers.
GL
I corrected the front tire size..correct size is what SSST states below ....

You can use GT2 sizes. 235-40-18 and 315-30-18. They should fit the TT with no problems.

i have 255/35/19 and 305/30/19 which is almost 1" taller than stock. I had to modify the front though to make it fit, i made a post on 6speed to show how.

Thx all. I checked tirerack.com and it looks like GT2 sizes recommended by SSST are available and close in size to each other 25.4 and 25.5, or 0.4 and 0.5 larger dia than stock. So diff should be ok. Speedo will show a bit slow. I would think relative tire speeds remain roughly the same so change should not affect PSM or other electronics. Anything I'm missing?

I'm running the GT2 size PS2s. I really like the bigger sidewall- a bit softer ride. Handling is more predictable.

No rubbing, I'm on GT2 wheels.

Actually, the speedo runs a little fast with stock tires. The GT2 sizes put it right on the money.

Just FYI... I run 315/30-18 and 265/35-18. Same sizing (in terms of diameters) as the GT2 fitment mentioned above (235/40&315/30). A bit more rubber up front.

Needs 9" rims up front. 11.5 or 12" rear.

I used to run the GT2 sizes on stock TT rims, no mods needed, no issues.
