Talking Porsche CPO Coverage

Happy to report that Porsche stood by its CPO warranty for the following:

1) Spoiler hydraulics - replaced entire assembly. issue: Driver's side hydraulic was misting oil, but had never failed to raise or lower either by manually pressing button or speed automated mode.

2) Clutch accumulator/slave - replaced. Usual symptoms.

3) CEL for Codes P0491, P0492 - secondary air injection system both banks. I don't have work sheet in front of me, but I think it was a faulty valve that was replaced.

Vehicle is an 02 with 50,500 miles - CPO warranty expires in about 3 months.

Servicing dealer was Jack Daniels Porsche, Upper Saddle River, NJ. No complaints.

Good, I have close to $10,000 in items covered by my CPO warranty too, I also had those codes and what had to be replaced were the diverter valves along with the F-Hose. I also had the accumulator fail, all the coils packs, both window regulators, the dreaded water lines on top of the engine, 2 radiator hoses, both seats modules, the CD changer + the whole stereo unit... all covered under CPO no questions asked...

Man, I hope my car doesn't have all those problems. So far, my car has had no issues.

The CPO warranty in your case certainly was a good thing.

My 03 came with a CPO warranty and while I didn't think I'd need to use it I wanted it because the car had low miles, around 10K.

Thank goodness 'cause I needed to use the CPO warranty.

1) idler roller bearing.
2) failed radiator fan motor (shaft failed which allowed the fan/hub assembly to fly off) which took out radiator and some brackets.
3) coolant cap.
4) shifter.
5) tranny (6-speed) selector shaft seal leak (tranny replaced).
6) clutch accum and slave cylinder.

Had I had to pay for the above out of my pocket...

Anyhow, all of the above taken care of before the 50K mile mark (or a bit past, I don't recall exactly).

The car's odometer is now up over 77K miles and all is well. <f/x fingers crossed>

By way of comparison, my 02 Boxster in the same number of miles needed just an RMS (at 25K miles) and a new key. The RF board failed.

Sincerely,

Macster.
