Default Worn Bushings & Mounts

Fella's

i generated this thread on 6speed based on my findings of a replaced tranny mount

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...ifference.html

i was wondering what other mounts i could replace and or bushings

here is a short list i came up with

motor mounts - plan to get 997gt3rs ones
control arm bushings
top mounts, but i will hold on this one in case i do coilovers and soilds are installed

any other easy ones i can do? please provide a part no if possible.

where the hell are the chassis mounts? anyone got some part numbers?

some past experiences would be appreciated

mike

Mike, just remember the more rubber you take out, the more noise and vibration you will get in the cabin. I know because I've already done it.

Do you have the part # for the GT3RS Mounts?

Thanks!

Excellent. Thanks. I kept looking for the part # and the GT3 one came up which, i guess, was not the semi-solid one.
Helpful as always, Mike.
Thanks again.

drive your car to sharkwerks.
whatever alex puts on it good.
whatever he doesn't put on is not needed.
no need to know part numbers and killing yourself doing all the research.
find a trustworthy shop.

Default Wevo

I've had the motor mounts replaced on my C4S with Wevo SS mounts and absolutely love them.

http://www.wevo.com/Products/ChassisProducts/WevoChassisProducts-997SSEngineMounts.htm

Mine were replaced for shifting reasons though. Depends on your goal. If you want to go stiffer but not solid I reco Wevo from experience. I have also had solid (long story).

I spoke with the guys at Wevo several times before buying and they are quite knowledgable. Made me feel comfortable with the purchase.

Feel free to PM if you need more info.

Good luck.

then a lot of research are needed.
depends on what u plan to do. solid, semi solid, monoball ***** are not all that good for street use. if you must have them, there are a lot of mounts you can replace.

engine mount
tranny mount
goto monoball bearing upper control arms.
lower control arm, thrust arm puck on the lower arm, thrust arm (aka tension arm) can be monoballed. front tie rod. all four upper shock mounts. you can get to tarett's web site and find all the parts you need. RSS, PMNA, ERP, GMG, TRG and many others all make similar parts.

it would be best to have a ride in a solid/semi solid jointed car for an hour or so. that may change one's perspective.
