Hey guys is there a shop in the LA area that would be good for my son to take his 944 turbo to be inspected? He had some trouble getting it done today, it had just passed here in UT so he thought they were just trying sell him a bunch of crap, I am not to familiar with CA emissions stuff, thanks for any help

Guys- be careful passing around shop names unless you really KNOW people.

CA is known to run stings and we don't need decent shops being put out of business.

This is no sting and I want him to get it fixed not get a slide by, just wanted him to get with a shop that knows the car well for future service. anyone with a question about me could call Kevin at UMW for a reference before passing on info. thanks for any help

Good to know, just saying in general. Problem is that a guy that knows Porsches will NOT be a guy that is working in a Smog shop!

I think you'll have better luck finding a great mechanic that knows 944s, and then just view the smog shop as a 'just take it there and get it done once the car is running right' kind of place.
