After getting prices on the 2 rear Michelin Pilots for 450 each I decided to do some homework as to what alternatives would be. The research made the ventus look good so I decided that for $700 for all four that how could I go wrong? I have had them on about a week now and I can honestly say that I think the Michelins are overpriced. I think that they have a smoother ride for sure and most def quiter. The tires I replaces were very worn on the rear but I had near new michelins on my last 911 and they still arent as quiet. I think the michelins may be a tad more precise but thats about all the good that I can say. Anyone considering these tires I would tell them they will be very happy.

lanny...where did you get them...Tire Rack? When I replaced my tires i purchased the Zumitomo's HRZ III and i'm pretty happy with them. heard good things about the Hankook. i agree the michelins and perellis are way over priced.

lanny, I have shared my opinion of the Hankooks on this board only to have some provide disagreement! Thanks for your actual observation. For the money they are hard to beat!

I run the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo or whatever they are called. Absolutely love them. Very stiff sidewall, comfy ride, and the price can't be beat! Just don't buy them thinking you will get the rebate they offer in a timely manner. They state 6-8 weeks and it takes more like 15+

yeah ventus v12 is what they are and I didnt see anything about a rebate so maybe I could have done a little better price wise. But 2 rear pilots for $900 or all four v12 for $700?? And I noticed in the ad at the tire shop for the hankook they show a yellow 997- I will pay more for better but I really dont know how michelin is going to fare if everyone tried these out.

I still love my Kumho XS, they have been nothing short of amazing. The car hooks in rwd mode no issues, the only thing that sucks is that they are heavier.

Just got a set of the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO for my Boxster S.
Previously had some Michelins, Sumotomos, Kumhos and Yokos on various Boxsters,
this one, and oothers I've only had the Hankooks on for a week.
The only comment I can make is they are LOUD. Significantly louder than any other tire I have had
on any Boxster --
But does that really matter on a convertible :-)
Price savings was significant.

how do the hankooks handle? I thought about putting those on my turbo but went with the sumi's. The pilots felt more stable around corners at high speed, but sumi's are very good and appear much quieter.
