If you want it up all the time buy the kit that takes the hydrolics off the deck lid and put it in and the wing will be up and you'll be getting rid of that weight as well.
You can get different heights as well.
I put mine up any time I'm driving my car. Then I lower it when I get out.
Mine didn't work when I got the car 2 1/2 yrs ago. The seller paid to have it fixed and the dealer told me how to keep it or atlease make it last longer by not leaving it up 24/7/365.

There are actually two kits for holding the spoiler up. The one at $150 or so locks it at the stock factory height when extended. The second, which is about $180 locks it approximately 1.5" higher than stock. They come from the same vendor who is very helpful.
I went with the higher one and am very pleased with it. This was done after the avatar picture so doesn't show.

My car just spent about three weeks in the garage with the spoiler up and the deck lid open. Therefore the hydraulics rams were sitting at a 90 degree angle from normal for an extended period of time. When I finally got the car running again and the deck lid closed, I had a wing failure. I figure sitting at 90 degrees for a prolonged period of time allowed the fluids to leak out somehow. Needless to say, I'm upset as now the wing doesn't fully raise and I get the failure message and light every time I drive. I really like the articulating wing so I hope I can fix it but it doesn't look promising without spending stupid money.
