Default 997 seat question

I am planning to replace the "supple Leather" seats in my car with seats from a 997 GT3 that are being shipped. I know that the connectors are different and should be able to connect wires (as far as I know they weren't memory seats). The seats are heated, and I know that a while back, I came across a post on some Porsche forum with a picture indicating the wire terminal for the heat on the 997 seat. I have searched high and low, and can't find it again. any help appreciated. There are several threads on the 997 to 996 seat swap, but any leads to some I may have missed would be appreciated. Thanks!

You may want to start a thread asking about 997 heated seats in order to get the attention of heated seat guys, they are in the minority. Or post in the 997 forum. Good luck. I put GT3 seats in my car but no heat.

The connectors in the two seats are not compatible but that is an easy fix by clipping them off and attaching new ones. Sorry I can't help you with the heat wiring. You will like the GT3 seats. If you don't have harnesses and plan on some spirited driving, a CGLock does a good job of holding you tight in place.

So I have 997 gt3 heated manual seats in my car. When wiring them up, I attached the heat elements but soon found this didn't work.

On the 996, the heat element seems to always have current running through it. I haven't gotten out the voltmeter but it seems the heat was managed by either the amount of current running through the heat wires, or by something in the seats themselves.

On the 997 however, having any connection to the heat element input means that the heat will be on. So when I had my 996 heat wires connected to the 997 heat inputs, the seat heat was always on!

I've since disconnected the heat until I can find a way to make them work.

I guess this is more advice on what doesn't work but you learn from your mistakes
