Valve is starting to leak (very minor) but want to go ahead and replace. Any suggestions?
I have found recommendations on here for Bosch, Forge and Bailey. All with conflicting results. Admittedly some of the posts are quite old.

Well, there is always the OEM DV. But many elect to go with an aftermarket DV. If you do this you probably should replace both so they are balanced/matched. In fact it might be prudent to replace both even if you stick with a factory duplicate of the one that's leaking.

I can't recommend any aftermarket DVs since I have no experience with any of them.

I know Kevin sells his own waste gates (which I will add in a few months). I saw a post a few months ago where I think he is using Bosch on his car. But generally it seems people don't like the OEM DV.

Dock, I think it's time to start planning a spring run in the mountains! I just went through there today and it's nice. Still some gravel on the roads in some parts. I am also going to start tagging along with the Lotus guys that go up there every 4th saturday in the month.

Ive used forge dv and now i run Bosch 710n dv´s they are the motorsport dv´s work fine up to 1.4 bar have faster respons time due to less mass in the piston. dont need to be lubricated and cheeper.
so +1 for 710n

I had my stock Bosch changed over to Champion, due to a vacuum leak and bogus SAV errors. The Champions are really the Forge brand with 90 degree vacuum line fittings. Cost me $350 for the pair.

I think the issue with the Bosch is they seem to go out due to eventual diaphram leaks. They are smaller. Not sure the size has anything to do with it.

Can the same DV work on a variety of cars or are they car/model specific? Looking on ebay...they have many listed as Audi/VW/T/TT things like that. Then say (works on porsche, etc) in the description.

The Bosch 710N is used in several different models, so yes it's a generic DV for gas turbos.

The pisto-valve DVs can "fail" due to lack of lubrication, so need periodic maintenance. I got the 710N's which are an upgrade of the DV's originally used, don't need maintenance, and are cheaper.

I didn't find any information indicating the maintenance interval on the piston DVs. It may be long enough to not be a practical problem but I never got a straight, or credible, answer to that question.

I bought my '02 Turbo new in 2002 (ordered in November '01 and delivered January '02). The OEM DVs were bad by July '02, and Porsche replaced (under warranty) the OEM DVs with Baileys. I haven't had any issue with them at all, and they have been exposed to EVOMS Stage 2 tuning since September '04.

Bailey's have a lifetime warranty, and are outstanding DVs.

Welcome! He comes out with a first post swinging! Looks like that is a good option...too bad for Bosch that they make the OEM diaphragm version and a better version in the 710N. Took me a while to figure out there were two different "Bosch" DV's.
