Default Head Unit CDR 22 (Europe)

I have looked through the pasts regarding changing out the CDR 22 (Europe model) Head Unit. Is there a good replacement head unit that will still utilize my amp? I want to use an ipod without the cable fix if possible.

Thanks.

From your previous posts, your car seems to be an '02 - so pre-optical. I'd expect most head units to work.

I added a Kenwood KIV 700 to mine, which with an additional blue-tooth module is great. Allows hands free phone, and streaming music from my phone (which was my main requirement). It also allows a USB stick - and, I found an old ipod I had with a broken screen - and that works perfectly with it. I leave it plugged in all the time.

Did you need a different wiring harness?

I must admit, I didn't fit it myself - so I don't know. I assume some kind of adapter might have been needed, but I don't think any major changes were made (it only took a few hours, and that included moving my existing turbo stereo to my 964).
