Default Fuel Gauge Calibration

Just had a fuel pump replaced by the dealer but now the fuel gauge is all over the place with totally unreliable readings. Took in to the dealer for calibration...they said it was fixed but apparently not!

Anyone here know the procedure of calibrating the fuel gauge? Is it a DIY?

Thanks...

Here is the info I have from the 996tt. Might be the same for you car. It seems like it might not be a DIY as you need the PIWIS it calibrate it.

As far as I know you need the PST2 or PIWIS to calibrate it. It's not rocket science to do it with the proper tool so I would guess you got a bad sender.

The fuel pump job was not done right if the fuel level system now acting up.

Why not take the car back and insist the fuel level system be recalibrated?

Sincerely,

Macster.

Your are absolutely correct! The problem with this dealer is that every time the fix one thing on my car they break another. They've already had two tries at this calibration and I'm banging my head against a wall. Now I'll just take to another shop where the master tech is good.
