This post makes absolutely no sense to me. ZDDP has been used until recently and ONLY removed for EPA/cat reasons. Further I have never heard one claim that ZDDP is related to the mineral portion of an oil. Quite the contrary, the oil I know with one of the highest ZDDP content on the market is TDT - a pure synthetic.

Scary part about that Microlon is it almost every document is written on a typewriter and from the 70's and 80's. If it was so great - I would think there would be a lot more press and much newer articles. It may be the best thing in the world - but it sounds like snake oil to me. Many of the "Proof cases" were subjective as well.
I think another problem with additives - is that you are not making any type of mix based on what is already in there? Chemicals can react strangely, especially under pressure and heat. A pre-mixed lubricant like engine oil takes this into account - and the type of chemicals and the ratios are all important. Throwing in even "more" of one type of additive already in it can alter the lubricants behavior.

Microlon efficacy
Have used Microlon twice, '88 5.0 GT, '12 F250 6.2 crew, mpg on 5.0 increased 12%, mpg on 6.2 showed similar increase. On 6.2 application engine and transmission temperature was cooler at 92° ambient and 75 mph than 50° ambient and 45 mph. 'Nuff said?
