"Chuckles" go both ways.

(Sorry - couldnt resist. Just "mute" over "moot" is one of the most used malapropisms I know.....)

Or as Joey on Friends would say.....

"It's a moo point. You know, like a cow's opinion. It just doesn't matter"

Not to worry, and thanks for the correction (I know the difference between the words. My brain just wasn't firing on all cells at the time, plus poor proof reading on my part).

This post is made only with regard to the Porsche information you posted from Porscheusa.com (quoted and linked above) and is offered purely as clarification of that information.

I checked with a friend at PCNA concerning the Porsche recommended maximum oil change interval listed on their web site, versus what is in the owners manual (specifically, I asked him why the web site lists 12k miles while the owners manual lists 15k). Here is part of his e-mail reply (his first sentence is referring to the Porecheusa.com web site)...

"We intend it as a printing for generalization on porsche.com/usa.

The more specific technical explanation to our dealer organization is as
described in the attached Maintenance Schedule bulletin for the 911 Turbo."

Here is page 1 of that Maintenance Schedule bulletin he attached:

According to the bulletin provided to their dealers, Porsche recommends a maximum of 2 years between oil changes if the car is driven less than 9000 miles during that time. For cars driven more than 9000 miles/yr, they recommend performing the 15k mile service when that mileage is reached.

Once again, this information is offered only to clarify Porsche's recommendations, since there is a discrepancy between their web site, and the owners manual.

That's awesome. I'll stick to 3k intervals
