Default Thinking about moving on.....

Recently retired, and not driving my Turbo as much as I used to, has got me considering its sale and moving on to the next chapter in my life. What do you suggest as a fair to all price for the following:

2003 TT - Lightly optioned:

Guards Red
6 Seed
Sport seats with Porsche crests
Stainless Steel door threshold guards
Console storage lid with Turbo logo
Black floormats - Porsche lettering
Seat belts - Guards Red
Stainless steel exhaust tips

Modifications:

3M Clearbra installed at 200 miles
Europipe-2 Quiet exhaust
GIAC Stage 2 Flash from Imagine Auto - 500 hp/500 ft-lb switchable to stock and back - but why would you want to
PSS9 coil overs - corner balanced and properly aligned
GT3 adjustable sways front and rear
TRG adjustable drop links
B&M Adjustable short shift kit
GT3 Cup car front brake ducts/deflectors

Repairs:

Recent clutch accumulator and slave replacement (September 2009)
Recent new Porsche OEM front rotors (July 2010)

Additional items and information:

Full OEM workshop manuals - printed version (Try finding these anywhere today).
Michelin PS2 tires at 50-75% tread remaining
34,600 miles
Always garaged - maintained by **** retentive mechanical engineer.
All original parts (exhaust, suspension, etc. included if desired)

I am the original owner and have personally driven every mile on the clock. I purchased this car new in September 2003. I have every receipt and record for all maintenance, repairs, upgrades and gas purchases. This car has always been garaged and stored properly in winter (November - March). No cigarette smokers allowed near the car. The only blemishes on the car are a small mark on the RR bumper cover and a small mark on the clear bra. Both are shown in the accompanying photos with a dime for reference.

Second set of Porsche OEM hollow spoke Turbo wheels with Michelin Sport Cups (2 DE events) available separately.
Recaro SPG XL race seat with Shroth harnesses and harness bar available separately.

Photos available at: http://s1011.photobucket.com/albums/...rsche%20996TT/

I'm not in a hurry to sell, but every journey starts with the first step. Someone is going to get a gem of a car. A true everyday supercar.

Honest pricing advice gladly accepted.

Cheers,
I have no idea on the pricing but what kind of retirement leaves you with *Less* time to drive a nice Turbo?

If this is retirement I'm working until I breathe my last and fall face down on my keyboard...arggghhhhh!....#$%L#L#@#@g6578999ihy12111nbm,.m/.,/kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Hah ha! Just kidding. Not dead yet.

Anyhow, seriously, best of luck with the sale. Sounds like a nice car. **** retentive mechanical engineer is redundant. I work with some. They're good people everyone but oh boy...

Sincerely,

Macster.

My gut reaction would be between $47-52k. If it needs absolutely nothing, then $52k easy. I would emphasize in your ad that you are the original owner, have all the records, and it needs nothing in order to justify that number.

GLWS, beautiful color!

Fred,

Congratulations on your retirement. I would say with your nice round of mods, high 40's for a quick sale to low 50's. you have a lot of nice quality mods so it should be pretty easy. Just as a benchmark, I just sold my 01 - 23k turbo with a lot of TA mods for $55k.

Out of all the pricing guides out there, NADA seems to be the most accepted and is generally the only one dealers put any creedence in.

NADA high retail $49475 (less than 5% of vehicle sales, 1% in this economy)

NADA average trade value $40350

NADA clean trade value $42950

Dealers typically want to buy at 20% below trade value so they can sell at near trade value and below published retail value and still have a nice margin.

Adds (upgrades, accessories) can help or hurt the value depending on the buyer. Factory options will increase the salability but usually not increase the book value.

Whats important to get maximum price.
Shiny high gloss finish, free of imperfections, door dings, etc.
clean wheels with out curbing rash
crystal clear headlights
immaculately clean interior, dust and lint free, no greasy Armor all look or scented freshners
detailed and spotless under hood and under front, battery compartment
all books, manuals, tools, etc
everything working, NO EXCUSES car
silicone treat all rubber door and window seals
clean oil residue from undercarriage and bottom of motor
good running, sounding, and driving car

even seemingly minor quirks can cost you big $$$

to a savy buyer, a minor wear item can deduct full cost parts and labor replacement from selling price.

I've had a motor vehicle dealers license for years, although not currently.

GLWTS!

Nick,

Thanks for your reply and pricing insights. My car has had TLC and has been a joy to drive. Perhaps someone will feel the same after they see the car, drive it, and carefully examine the documentation. I'm not a professional photographer, but the photos available show that it's an immaculate car.

Fred, my car is also for sale. If anyone calls about mine and decides to keep looking, I'll mention your car for sale.

Thanks for the possible "assist". It'll look good in your box score and stats.

Cheers,
